English abstract:
We evaluate the performance of an ultra-wideband(UWB) detection-based (DB) time-of-arrival (ToA) estimator using an energy efficient matched filter (MF) receiver in the presence of multipath and interference. With the introduction of Wi-Fi 6E, new interference scenarios emerge for UWB systems in the 6 GHz-10 GHz band. An analysis of the root mean squared error (RMSE) is provided for different bandwidths of the interference signal. Further, the optimal threshold of the detection-based estimator that minimizes the RMSE is presented. The results reveal that both the RMSE and the optimal threshold depend on the bandwidth of the interference signal. It is further shown that the estimation of the interference power is problematic for low bandwidths, which results in a strong degradation of the ranging performance.
