Kurzfassung englisch:
It has been demonstrated in the last decade, that resonant-tunneling diodes (RTDs) have potential to become a viable enabling technology for sub-THz and THz radiation sources. Recent development in RTDs and THz RTD oscillators will be described. Strategies and concepts to increase their operation frequencies will be pointed out, different types of fundamental RTD oscillators and novel concepts of the oscillators will be outlined.
