Kurzfassung englisch:
Broadband time-of-flight ranging of RFID tags is limited by the backscatter frequency response of the utilized tags. In commercial EM Simulation software these measurements are not accessible. Therefore, this work shows how the complex-valued Delta Radar Cross-section can be derived from the gain of an RFID antenna and the reflection coefficients of the RFID tag. Furthermore, a comparison between the simulated data and measured data will be presented and the influence onto the ranging method will be discussed.
