English abstract:
A passive HF RFID (High Frequency Radio Frequency Identification) card consists of a spiral coil connected through an electric wire (galvanic coupling) to a chip. This connection jeopardizes the robustness of the RFID card against mechanical stress and increases costs of manufacturing. However, a non-galvanic coupling would reduce the read range of the card. We propose a novel design that provides a good coupling without physically connecting the coil to the chip. The design is modeled in ADS circuit simulator as an RLC system and also compared to a 3D electromagnetic simulation using HFSS, in addition to measurements.
