English abstract:
Recent advancements in production materials for cars replace well-known ground plane materials for antennas. The production orocesses of shark-fin antenna modules shifts towards molded interconnect devices (MID´s) and carbon-fiber composites (CFC´s) replace steel as chassis material. Differences in antenna performance are presented on the example of a simple monopole-antenna for 5.9 GHz (ITS G5). Gain, return loss and the radiation patterns of a MID-design, a CFC and an aluminum ground plane are compared.
