English abstract:
Scattering from absorbers and other features in anechoic chambers are a major source of antenna measurement errors. In this contribution we investigate a reflection suppression technique for spherical near-field antenna measurements using spatial oversampling and modal filtering. A procedure is presented for effectively suppressing static reflections in anechoic chambers which allows to extend usability and frequency range of anechoic chambers with minimal knowledge of the measurement setup. The procedure is based on an offset mount of the Antenna Under Test (AUT), a near-field far-field transform followed by coordinate transform and modal filtering. The procedure is exemplified and validated using real-world measurements
of a low-gain Switched Beam Antenna at 2.45 GHz in the 5m × 5m × 5m anechoic chamber of TU Wien. The method refined the measurement results and removed ripple from the obtained measurement data.
