Kurzfassung englisch:
Local Positioning Systems (LPSs) based on Ultrasound are mostly aimed for tracking of mobile devices or persons. However, LPS LOSNUS is mainly designed for locating numerous static devices with high locating accuracy especially in a wireless sensor network (WSN). Applications in WSN could signigicantly be improved including network integration based on node locations, supervising locations with respect to accidentally disarrangement and detecting faking of node locations. This article presents a localiation algorithm for LPS LOSNUS in a six-transmitter configuration which can tolerate a single failure in a ToA measurement resulting from arbitrary failure modes. The localization algorithm uses hyperbolic multilateration in combination with proximity based grouping and final determination of the position by averaging, selection by smallest GDOP or by applying a non-linear least square algorithm to the correct ToAs. The article includes a short description of the system, the algorithms and a performance comparison to other localization algorithms based on real-world measurement.
