Kurzfassung englisch:
Two new ultrasound transducer concepts, an annular transducer consisting of four interleaved piezoceramic rings with different resonance frequencies and a composite transducer where piezoceramic fibers with different resonance frequencies are arranged in parallel and bonded together with soft silicone, are presented. Both configurations enable frequency controlled displacement amplitudes of the different radiating area elements leading to frequency controlled changes of the radiation pattern and signal phase that is used to determine the direction of ultrasound echo signals. Simulation results show, that the Piezofiber - Silicone Rubber - Composite - transducer (PFSRC) has a more uniform distribution of pressure amplitudes at different zenith angles compared to the transducer configuration with the interleaved rings, when driven with a broadband chirp-signal. This property enables the extraction of phase information of weak echo signals with lower error probability and more robust echo angle detection.
