Kurzfassung englisch:
The range of advanced wireless technology and systems in modern wireless communication scenarios is wide and growing ever wider. In this and other evolving wireless environments, the linearization of RF transmitter power amplifier has become a major research and development goal. This paper will review some key RF transmitter power amplifier linearisation issues. The underlying power amplifier efficiency and linear signal transmission paths for bandwidth efficient, modulation-complex signals, will be presented together with the linearisation solution. Modern linearization schemes and where linearization research, and technology, is headed will be addressed. A focus will be placed mainly on new approaches to circuit and system predistortion and feedback linearization concepts and techniques. Contextual issues such a adaptivity, robustness, and stability will be considered. Useful research results on lineariser benefits will be shown. In considering measures of linearity, examples of how a lineariser's benefit may be quantifies using the new percentage linearization measure, in applications of RF power amplifiers in modern wireless interfaces, will be set out.
