English abstract:
A differential burst-mode optical receiver in digital 0.18μm CMOS technology for SoC applications with sensitivities of -30.7dBm and -23.7dBm for λ=1310nm at data rates of 622Mb/s and 1.25Gb/s, respectively, is presented. These values are compared to sensitivities of -24.5dBm at 622Mb/s and -24.1dBm at 1.25Gb/s of a 0.6μm BiCMOS OEIC being also introduced with an integrated pin photodiode at λ=670nm. Additionally, an innovative OEIC in 0.6μm BiCMOS technology with an integrated volage-up-converter (VUC), with generates a bias voltage of 16.3 V for the integrated pin photodiode form the chip supply voltage of 5V is described. Due to the VUC, the data rate for the given technology was increased form 50Mb/s to 1.5Gb/s. The VUC-OEIC represents a complete SoC consisting of sensor, analog and gital part.
