"Entwicklung und Aufbau einer rechnergesteuerten Strahlmodulation für Elektronenstrahlbearbeitungsanlagen";

The job of these thesis was the development of a computer controlled beam modulation for electronic beam machines. The beam modulation consist of the focus modulation and the beam oscillation. The frequency of the signals should be controllable in the range of under 1 Hz to over 60 kHz.

In chapter 3, NC (numeric control) machines, the structure of machine tools and especially the structure of electronic beam machines is explained and the intension of the focus modulation and the beam oscillation is characterized.

Chapter 4 explains the structure of the numerical control PB-CON. The jobs of all printed circuit boards are described in a short way. A detailed description of the functions of the modulator is found in a subchapter.

Chapter 5 describes the realisation of the modulator. First of all the functions of the assembly groups are resumed. Afterwards the realisation of the assembly groups is explained. The different possibilities of the realisation are discussed.

In chapter 6 you can find the programs of the MACH components. MACH programs can be understood easily by the detailed comments in the programs. The test software EBMTEST contains the software for the test and operation of the modulator.

During the test a lot of possible improvements and wishes for the enlargement of the functions were deposited. These possible realisations and additional tasks are explained in chapter 8.

Chapter 9 consists of a list of the graphs and the bibliography.

The appendix contains the schematics and a picture of the modulator.
